Leading retirement village developer Living Choice expands to Adelaide
Living Choice, leaders in luxury retirement living for the over 55’s, today announced plans for an $80-million retirement village at Fisher Street in the prestigious suburb of Fullarton. The application for 190 one and two-bedroom Supported Living apartments, a luxury leisure centre and bowling green was lodged with Unley City Council on Monday this week.
Living Choice director Ian Tregoning said the village would enhance Fullarton’s reputation as an upmarket haven for retirees and was in keeping with the Council’s vision to preserve Unley’s charm and character and create sustainable and safe environments for its residents.
“Over 65s now comprise 13.1 percent of our population and this is expected to grow significantly over the next 20 years. While there are many retirement villages geared for independent living, there is an urgent need for superior Supported Living accommodation and Living Choice Fullarton S/L will fulfil this demand,” he said.
Established in 1992, Living Choice is well-known in the retirement village industry as a specialist developer of upmarket “resorts for the un-retiring” in highly desirable areas. The company has three retirement villages on the Central Coast of NSW – Broadwater Court, Alloura Waters and Deepwater Court - and two retirement villages in Eastwood and Glenhaven in Sydney.
In late 2002, the company spread its wings to the Sunshine Coast where 220 villas and apartments have been completed at their waterfront villages at Kawana Island and Twin Waters. Last year it also acquired land for a retirement village at Sunshine Cove, Maroochydore where it plans to build more than 1 000 Independent and Supported Living apartments.
Living Choice villages offer an enviable lifestyle complete with numerous facilities and activities for their residents. The leisure centre at Living Choice Fullarton will include a full commercial kitchen where meals will be served daily, a lounge, bar/café, raised stage with dance floor, craft room, cinema, billiards area, library/internet/cards room, hair, beauty and wellness centre, gymnasium, meeting room and a small shop.
Peace of mind is assured with 24-hour on-site care, emergency response buttons and three medical rooms for visiting practitioners.
Outdoor facilities will include a bowling green, extensive shaded gardens and water features, a BBQ area with gazebo and raised garden beds to encourage an interest in gardening.
