September 2009:

Picnic set to become an annual event

Marie De Tommaso and her daughter Adriana. When Living Choice Central Coast sales consultant Pam Gilbert suggested that Alloura Waters, Broadwater Court and Deepwater Court residents and clients get together for a picnic, little did she realise that she was starting a tradition that looks set to become an annual event.

Held at the Gosford waterfront on a picture perfect summer’s day with boats bobbing in the background, the inaugural Living Choice picnic in September 2009 was an outstanding success. While fellow sales consultant Dave Grassby kept the sausages, rissoles and onions sizzling on the BBQ, the residents kept cool sipping Yalumba wines under a big marquee where there was plenty of shade and a gentle sea breeze to keep them comfortable.

Residents also brought their own supplies of prawns, sandwiches, chicken salad and cheese platters so there was plenty to feast on!

Pam, Jenny Trovato (sales consultant) and Sarah Joyce (resident relations) ensured that everything went smoothly and a mobile coffee van was on hand to provide lattes and cappuccinos.

Sheila Hughes and Ron Johnson of Living Choice Broadwater Court. To add to the happy atmosphere, "Speedy" Rhodes, a great one-man band, sang some well-loved "golden oldies" that got the dance-lovers toe-tapping. And it was a day to remember for birthday girl Faye Bartlett of Deepwater Court at Woy Woy, who won the prize for best decorated picnic table.

The Central Coast Express spent a few hours capturing all the action and placed a number of photos in the newspaper’s social section. A big thank you to Pam Gilbert and her helpers for staging such a wonderful event. The 2010 picnic looks set to be a sell out!
