ANZAC Spirit Alive at Deepwater Court

By Tamara Laurence:

Living Choice Deepwater Court celebrated ANZAC Day yesterday in true-blue Aussie style with 35 residents attending the official commemoration followed by a delicious barbeque lunch.

The Spirit of the ANZAC was alive and well as the residents all stood and said the Ode, followed by the always moving Last Post, and concluding with the singing of Advance Australia Fair.

Thea Brayshaw, a resident at Living Choice Deepwater Court, said a wonderful day was enjoyed by all, with a number of residents contributing their time to cook the BBQ and make the desserts.

The tables were also decorated to reflect the special occasion; decked out in red, white and blue, and boasting Australian flags and sprigs of rosemary.

“We are so privileged to have wonderful cooks in our village, and the desserts presented were delicious. Thank you to all those kind ladies who added extra sweetness to the day,” said Thea.
