Inspired by her surroundings, and using light in all its glory, Lorraine Carruthers’ semi-abstract and abstract oil and acrylic paintings use colour to capture both her subject and her audience. Over the past decade, Lorraine has exhibited in various galleries and wineries throughout South Australia and often works without reference letting the paint take her wherever it goes – living in the moment. Experimenting with colour where the subject demands is a hallmark of Lorraine’s artistic style. Lorraine is currently working on a collage of the landscape of McLaren Vale using paint only, trying to capture its essence from the sea to the hills.
