Big field for Headland Vets’ October tournament

After a weekend of record-breaking hot weather on the Sunshine Coast, Monday 25th October was a very different story. Lightning, thunder and extreme hail warnings meant that the Living Choice sponsored Headland Veteran Golfers’ monthly competition was on the verge of being cancelled.

Fortunately, the tournament could proceed, attracting a field of 127 players, including 33 Caloundra Veteran golfers. All players enjoyed the company of their playing partners and the scores reflected a course in good condition.

Representing Living Choice were new Twin Waters’ residents, Maudi and John Bennett, who said, “The event was extremely well organised and the rain held off until we had completed our game. The friendly interaction with fellow participants made the day most enjoyable.”

Maudi assisted with presentations and the results are as follows:

  • Women’s Grade A winner: Gwen Nancarrow
  • Women’s Grade B winner: Jacqueline Nelson
  • Men’s Grade A winner: Gordon Russell
  • Men’s Grade B winner: Phil Martin
  • Men’s Grade C winner: Barry Euston

The next Living Choice sponsored game is scheduled for the 8th of November.
