Living Choice Woodcroft residents, clients, staff members and invited guests celebrated another significant milestone in the history of the village on 13th October.
More than 120 people joined Living Choice Ambassador, Keith Conlon OAM for a Morning Tea at the Vines Golf Club of Reynella to celebrate the awarding of Full Accreditation under the Lifemark Scheme to Living Choice Woodcroft, the last village in the Living Choice group to receive the coveted Accreditation.
Special guests included the President of the SA Retirement Villages Residents’ Association, Bob Ainsworth and his wife, Leveda, and SARVRA village representatives, Pam West of Woodcroft and Allan Perryman of Fullarton and his wife, Laurie.
Living Choice director, Graham Hobbs, stressed Living Choice’s support of the Retirement Living Council’s 8-Point Plan and said Living Choice would continue to maintain and develop good relationships with its residents and the Residents’ Association.
“I am staggered at the sense of community at Woodcroft, notwithstanding the residents’ experiences with the former operator. I am confident that the opening of the leisure centre will further enhance that close sense of community.”
Jason Sack, General Manager SA & Sydney, paid tribute to the residents and staff who had assisted throughout the Accreditation process and Angela Trevor, village manager at Living Choice Fullarton, highlighted the many ways that Accreditation had helped in the smooth running of her village.
Keith Conlon also gave an entertaining account of his busy life since retiring from Radio Fiveaa – including weekly ‘Bike Rides with Keith’, Fringe Festival events, serving on the SANFL history and annual history festival committees, forming a 6-piece jazz band and assisting at many charity events.
Then it was time to cut the Accreditation Cake, with village manager Steven Bielby and vice-chairman of the Woodcroft Residents’ Committee, Don Holmesby, doing the honours.
