The generosity of the wonderful residents at Living Choice Twin Waters was evident on Friday 18th June when they dug deep in their pockets to support the annual Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for the Cancer Council. After enjoying a relaxing cuppa, a cake or two, and a chat with neighbours it was time to look at a range of homemade goodies and knitwear on offer from the craft group, together with colourful garden plants and other items on the nursery table.
The auction included eight delicious homemade sponges made by Marj Hines, one made by Jill Harris as well as other generously donated items, all of which were popular and attracted many bids. The raffle offered over 20 amazing prizes for the lucky winners, including a huge hamper donated by Living Choice and won by Judith Laws.
Many thanks to Thelma Richardson and her team of loyal volunteers who worked hard to prepare the event and provide the teas. A big thank-you to the many residents who donated items for the raffle and auction and also to the local businesses which willingly support the appeal. Most of all, thanks to our generous residents who turned out to support the good cause and contributed a whopping $5,000! Rochelle Hammond attended the event on behalf of the Queensland Cancer Council and thanked residents for their support.
Over the past 13 years, the Biggest Morning Tea at Twin Waters has raised $52,881 to the furtherance of Cancer Research - a proud record indeed!
