Where there’s a will, there’s a way and the residents at Living Choice Twin Waters have certainly become very innovative in ensuring some of their favourite events still proceed and they remain socially connected, despite State Government COVID-19 restrictions. Here is a snapshot of upcoming events being advertised in this week’s Residents’ Communique:

Christmas with a Difference – Friday 11th December

Taking it to the Street – 5.30pm start

In this unusual year, we are taking our Christmas festivities to the street for 2020. We will comply with COVID-19 requirements and still have an enjoyable gathering. The bar will be open between 5pm-6pm.

Ladies - please wear your best decorated Christmas hat; Gents - please wear your best Christmas shirt. There will be prizes for the most outrageous! Bookings are now open for residents only in the WHAT folder. RSVP by Thursday 3rd December. Cost $35 per person. Looking forward to it! The Good Time Girls…Pauline, Aileen and Glenda.

Christmas Morning/Afternoon Tea – Tuesday 8th December

Leisure Centre at 10am & 2.30pm

A slightly different arrangement this year from our normal Christmas Morning Tea. Due to limitations in numbers it is necessary to have two sittings – one morning, the other afternoon. Details are in the WHAT folder where you should enter your name for your preferred option of AM or PM. The limit for each session is 50 people so put your name down as soon as possible. The closing date for catering purposes is Wednesday 2nd December.

Focus on Theatre – Friday 20th November

Oscars Unveiled!

You are invited to a complimentary glass of ‘prohibition’ champagne or ‘boot-leg’ orange juice with ‘conservative’ nibbles on Friday 20th November to mark the unveiling of our two newest residents, Oscar and Hammerstein, made by the fantastic guys in our workshop...Bruce Shoemark and Ray Nelson.

There will be two sessions of 40 people allowing for social distancing, with the first session running from 4-5pm, and the second session from 5-6pm. The bar will be open. If you would like to be part of this event, please put your name down in the WHAT folder and indicate which session you would like to attend. Robert.

Craft Fair – Monday 23rd November

Clubhouse from 1.30-4.00pm

Foods such as chutney, jam, marmalade, cakes and biscuits will be our main focus. These types of items would make great inexpensive Christmas gifts. Our other focus this year was to find something different to make and the ladies have come up with some great ideas. Please support your local Craft Group on the day and bring your cash! Afternoon tea will be provided for $5. The majority of proceeds go to charity. A small amount is used to buy more stock. Carol Baker-Finch.

Trivia Evening – Thursday 26th November

Leisure Centre at 5pm

We’re back! You have had plenty of time to study and research all things Trivial so now you can put all that pent-up knowledge to the test. You should enter your team of up to 6 people in the WHAT folder. For those without a team who would like to participate just enter your name and a team will be found for you. If you have not joined us before, this is an evening purely for FUN with the questions not too challenging (on the whole!) For this evening it will be BYO nibbles. Closing date is Monday 23rd November.
