The fitness and health activities available at Living Choice Fullarton are already having a positive impact on the lives of retired residents, with several success stories being shared at the Seniors’ Health, Beauty & Fitness Expo held in the auditorium on 30th April.
Sisters Raelene Olbrich and Carolyn Stark spoke of how taking part in the aquarobics, Pilates and yoga classes had improved their flexibility and all-round health. The classes are held three times a week by trained fitness co-ordinator Belinda Holmes.
Belinda also reported how water aerobics had helped a resident who was suffering severe arthritis problems, leading to improved sleep and weight loss.
Presentations were also given by Dr Sophie Dwyer and Melissa Virgara of Adelaide Vintage Health, Anne Higginson of LifeCare and physiotherapist Natalie Bukojemski of Flex Clinic, all of whom offer on-site services.
To top off the morning of fitness and health advice, on-site hairdresser Sharyn Gogel shared some hair blow-drying techniques to achieve that “salon look”.
There was also a lucky draw to win a $100 restaurant voucher at Damien on Fisher Restaurant, which is receiving rave reviews. The voucher was won by Mr and Mrs Ian Lumsden of Beaumont.
Residents and guests enjoyed a Morning Tea of healthy muffins, freshly squeezed juices, tea and coffee and many took advantage of the opportunity to inspect the retirement village facilities and beautiful display apartments.
To book for the aquarobics, yoga or Pilates classes, phone Belinda at 0402 140 115.
