For the first time in what feels like an eternity, the sun shone and the temperature rose close to 20 degrees – and all for the purpose of making the Ladies Gala Day at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club a fabulous day! Around 100 ladies from 11 different clubs came out in their t-shirts for a social 4-ball-best-ball Stableford round on the glorious fairways. I was fortunate to be invited by enthusiastic club member (and future resident at Living Choice Flagstaff Hill!) Wendy Butler to join her, the Club Ladies President, Helen, and the club junior champion, Taylor for what was a very satisfying 18 holes. Happily met by Living Choice staff members Katherine and Olga on the 9th for a quick glass of bubbles and chocolate to keep us going until finishing the day at the clubhouse for lunch and presentations. Although an infant in my golfing career, I was on a winning team and thank the girls for their patience with me throughout the morning. Living Choice sponsored the day and provided the prizes for the best scores. It was also an opportune time for Katherine Stacey (Sales Manager at Woodcroft and Flagstaff Hill) to talk to the crowd about the progress being made towards the building of the Living Choice retirement village on the site. With such a big project being proposed, there are always a few hurdles to jump. As Living Choice are great athletes (!), Katherine enthusiastically assured all that they were on track and excited about the future union between the Club and Living Choice.
