Kawana Island crafters host High Tea fundraiser
Sipping on champers and enjoying decadent sweet treats at 2pm is all part of the lifestyle enjoyed by Living Choice Kawana Island residents but on Friday 17th November, it was all for a good cause!
The Craft Group held a High Tea and Craft Sale to support their ongoing projects at the Sunshine Coast University Public Hospital and it was well-supported by residents, keen to purchase quality handmade items just in time for Christmas.
Convenor, Janne Bernhard, said they raised $627 from entry ticket sales and a further $1,006.40 from craft sales – a total of $1,633.40. “We are pleased with our efforts, as all food was donated by the craft ladies and we really appreciate the support that the residents from the village give us. Without their support we couldn’t achieve what we do,” said Janne.
The craft group has previously donated a book trolley valued at $700 to the hospital. So far this year they have also donated in excess of 100 quilts, 50 dementia pillows, knitted toys, knitted baby clothes, beanies for children and cancer wards, plus books.
Living Choice applauds the outstanding contribution of the Kawana Island Craft Group!
