Ladies lead the way at Nine Hole Seniors competition

The first match in the 2021 Flagstaff Hill Golf Club’s biannual Men vs Ladies Nine Hole Seniors’ competition was played on 6th May in beautiful Autumn weather. The competition, which was sponsored by Living Choice, attracted 28 ladies and 34 senior men players who enjoyed 9 holes of golf followed by an excellent lunch.

John Gilchrist, NHS President, said in what was regarded by the men as a “complete upset”, the ladies won the day comfortably with a points average of 15.37 compared with the men’s score of 14.32.

“Congratulations, ladies. The second match will be played on 7th October with the men promising to reverse this result,” said John. “On behalf of the players, I would like to express my thanks to Living Choice for the generous sponsorship of the event,” he added.

Sales Manager, Katherine Stacey, said the day had been very enjoyable. “There was much laughter and great appreciation for the champagne and chocolates prior to, and after the game. The new chef was also a hit, serving salad and frittatas as well as fish and chips, with a great dessert of cheesecake or chocolate mud cake.”
