One year ago, on 15th December 2014, the first residents – Scott and Jean Hutchinson – received the keys to their new luxury apartment at Living Choice Fullarton from Directors Ian Tregoning and Graham Hobbs. Today, the village has grown into a thriving community comprising 112 residents, with more clients set to join the Fullarton family by the end of the year.
It is, indeed, a close family – as evidenced at the 1st Anniversary Celebration and Christmas Party enjoyed by more than 120 residents, clients and staff members. Dressed in Santa suits, General Manager Jason Sack, Construction Manager Rob Grech and resident Pat Pearce were kept busy cooking steaks, sausages and onions on the BBQ, which were accompanied by a great selection of salads made by Damien on Fisher Restaurant. Afterwards everyone tucked into an enormous anniversary cake, cheese and fruit platters. Naturally, the wine and champagne flowed!
The highlight of the evening – and one which showcased this fun-loving community – was a hilarious Christmas pantomime performed by residents in tutus and pink wigs. It was enjoyed so much that they were called back to do an encore.
At the Official Opening by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le, Governor of South Australia, Director Graham Hobbs spoke about the strong sense of community at other Living Choice villages. In just 10 months since that Official Opening in February, residents at Fullarton have fully embraced all their opportunities to create a caring community, learn new hobbies, improve their fitness and make new friends. “What you have created here is now a model for the rest of Australia to replicate.”
