$40 million Estia Maroochydore opens its doors
The first residents of Estia Health’s new $40 million Aged Care Residence in Sunshine Cove, Maroochydore have moved in, following the official opening on 22nd August.
The two-storey home, which has 126 modern, spacious rooms with private ensuites, was built by Living Choice’s Construction team, which is also busy with two other projects in the immediate area, including The Somerton Residences and The Brighton Apartments. Project Manager Warren Danter said the Estia building had been delivered on time.
Living Choice has a proud track record of constructing Aged Care Residences for Estia Health, having also built Estia Twin Waters, which is adjacent to Living Choice Twin Waters, Estia Southport on the Gold Coast and completing significant refurbishments at Estia Mudgeeraba.
Estia Maroochydore offers a variety of services, including a dedicated Memory Support Unit which will incorporate 18 beds, and Registered Nurses on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There will also be visiting medical professionals and allied health services, nutritious meals prepared on-site, a hairdressing salon, in-house cinema, well-stocked library, computer hub, private dining room for small gatherings and a public café.
John Hunter is one of Estia Health Maroochydore’s first residents and is excited to be part of a community of like-minded people but still be located close enough to his wife of 40 years and his family and friends. “So far it has more than met my expectations and I have felt very supported by the team helping me,” said Mr Hunter.
Living Choice has a special arrangement with its residents whereby, if the last residing resident in a home at Living Choice Twin Waters or Kawana Island takes a permanent placement at Estia Twin Waters or Estia Maroochydore, Living Choice will take over the responsibility for the General Service Charge on their Living Choice unit from the date of Vacant Possession until a new resident settles on that unit.
