A great day of remembrance at Alloura Waters

Living Choice Alloura Waters residents gathered on ANZAC Day for the village’s annual service. It was supported by a large crowd of around 125 residents with the service commencing at 11am in the community centre.

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War, Kevern Rowe presented a condensed history of that involvement and outlined the various areas where Australian personnel served.

He noted that most Military Units suffered casualties and losses at some stage during the 10-plus years of involvement in that conflict and that many who served continue to have problems to this day.

The village resident band and several guest artists performed appropriate war-time songs and the residents even enjoyed a game of “two-up” after lunch.
