A Royal card for centenarian Joan
The 29th January was a very special day for Living Choice Broadwater Court resident, Joan Thomas, who celebrated her 100th birthday!
Past and present staff members and friends celebrated Joan’s milestone birthday at the Gosford Sailing Club. A relative travelled all the way from the UK to be here for the special occasion.
Staff member Mavis Atherton said that Joan was thrilled to have everyone there for the luncheon, celebrating her life. “She loved being the centre of attention, and rightly so.”
What a joyous occasion it was for Joan, who cherished her day and was excited to receive her card from King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla.
Joan moved into the village in 2008. Prior to her move, Joan lived in Killarney Vale. She has a younger sister, Mary who lives in Sydney, however the remainder of Joan’s relatives all reside in the United Kingdom.
Toni Goddard from village administration said that Joan, who is currently in respite, is quite the character and has an amazing life story. Happy 100th, Joan!
