Big Brother winner supports World Blind Golf event at Parkwood

The 2022 QLD Blind & Low Vision Golf Open was played at Parkwood Golf Course on 28th and 29th July and Living Choice Parkwood was very proud to be one of the prize sponsors.
Players came from around Australia to play in the 36-hole Strokeplay and Stableford Event which also incorporated a 6-hole Beginners’ Division.
Regina Sorense (Reggie Bird), the only dual winner of Big Brother Australia in 2003 and 2022, was on hand to present the prizes. Reggie was declared legally blind in 2008 after having been diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition, retinitis pigmentosa, a rare hereditary eye disease that may lead to blindness. She had lost 90 percent of her central vision.
"I've now lost all of my peripheral vision and I have no night vision. I could wake up tomorrow and it’s going to be gone," she said.
