Biggest Morning Tea raises $4,750 at Twin Waters
By Frank & Thelma Richardson
Big-hearted residents of Living Choice Twin Waters turned out in large numbers last Friday to support the village's annual Biggest Morning Tea for cancer, raising an incredible $4,750.
This event has been ongoing since 2008 and, in accordance with tradition, everything sold and consumed is contributed or donated by residents, with local businesses and Living Choice providing some of the raffle prizes.
The Bistro was the place to enjoy a magnificent morning tea whilst the Auditorium was transformed into a mini market with stalls displaying and selling the Craft Group’s produce, plus a huge selection of plants, ready for the gardens.
Keen bidding in the time-honoured auction of the delicious and famous cream sponges, and a luxury rug, added to the fun. Meanwhile, an ongoing silent auction was closely watched by those eager to win a round of golf for two, kindly donated by the Twin Waters Golf Club.
Finally, the mega raffle of 40 prizes enabled many winners to make their way home even happier after a wonderful morning.
Since 2008, the Twin Waters village has donated a staggering $57,631 to the Australian Cancer Council.
