Broadwater Court residents pay tribute to our fallen

Graham and Elayne Harrison Report

This Anzac Day Living Choice Broadwater Court Waterfront Estate residents responded enthusiastically to the call by Kawana Island resident, Jake Jacobsen, to heed the RSL’s appeal to “Light Up The Dawn” and it was such an amazing and beautiful way to remember those who served our country.

All residents involved did their part to make sure that even in isolation, we can commemorate the ANZACS in a truly spectacular way. The occasion commenced at the stairs beneath the central flagpole at the end of the bowling green where residents John Hughes lowered the national flag to half-mast and Del Pridmore recited The Ode from the poem “For the Fallen”.

Graham Harrison then drove slowly around the Waterfront Estate playing a recording of The Last Post to some 60 or more residents assembled in their driveways with candles and lanterns before returning to the stairs near the flagpole about 15 minutes later. As Graham played a recording of Reveille, John then slowly raised the national flag to finish off the service. Anzac Day 2020 will certainly be one to remember at Living Choice Broadwater Court. Lest we Forget.
