Broadwater residents enjoy
art and gardens tour

Living Choice Broadwater Court residents did not have to travel far for their `Long Day Out’ trip in March. CHRIS MURRELL REPORTS.

Despite being small in number, it was a lovely intimate group that visited the local Art Gallery and Edogawa Japanese gardens. To start the day, we enjoyed morning tea with special home baked cake under the trees. It was a beautiful and very hot day so we took advantage of an early garden tour before heading inside to enjoy the contemporary art displays with our very own Barbara Hanley to guide us.

Everyone found it interesting, especially the explanation of how most of us know art as we see it in nature or portraits and pictures of familiar things but when it’s contemporary, it’s the thoughts and feelings of the artist and we all interpret these things differently.

Lunch was just a hop, skip and jump away at the Elanora Hotel, with very good food - some of us even took a doggie bag home with us.

It was a very special trip spending time in our local area. Thanks to all who attended.
