Bulk excavation gets tick of approval for sustainability
New drone aerial photos taken of Living Choice Flagstaff Hill on 9th March show the extent of the bulk excavation work in preparation for the next stage of construction at this exciting golf course located retirement village. The next stage includes “The Fairway”, a 6-storey apartment building, and “The Summit”, which comprises four levels of apartments and a magnificent new clubhouse.
“More than 5,000 tons – and counting - of soil has been removed,” said Project Manager, Tony Hatzis. “We will be continuing this throughout March and then moving onto base prep, together with other service trades being engaged next month,” he added.
“We are part-way through our bulk excavation and are working alongside our Living Choice Mount Barker team to reuse some of the excavated fill at Mount Barker. We are also working with the Flagstaff Hill Golf Club to re-use fill for their purposes, therefore we are completing the bulk excavation in the most sustainable way possible.”
Tony said both buildings would be done as one project, at the same time. “This will also include the clubhouse hospitality and function areas.”
Katherine Stacey, Regional Manager, said only six of the 42 villas remained and 10 apartments in the completed “The Range Building” were available. “My advice to those interested in golf course retirement living is to secure one of these homes now, at today’s prices. Although the leisure facilities are not built yet, existing residents are enjoying a wonderful social life, going on outings and making use of the green space adjacent to “The Range” for BBQs. They can also socialise at the temporary golf clubhouse, which has a great deck overlooking the practice putting green.”
