Carrak Coffee Club celebrates 20 years
An important milestone was celebrated at Living Choice Broadwater Court’s Waterfront Estate on Saturday 22nd July.
Residents gathered to celebrate 20 years of the Carrak Coffee Club. This special place is where old and new friendships have been made, information has been shared and memories have been created.
Organised by residents and various committee members, the event included live music and catering and was attended by a large crowd of around 70 residents who enjoyed the afternoon festivities.
On arrival, guests were given the choice of a selection of champagne cocktails. The room was transformed with silver and gold decorations setting the theme with the tables set up café style. Guests were served a selection of canapes while enjoying the entertainment provided by Trion who played a variety of 60s, 70s, and 80s music.
The afternoon gave everyone a chance to share and enjoy stories of the early days, good company, and even a dance or two.
A few formalities took place with Chairperson Lynne Bailey giving a lovely speech. This was followed by cutting the anniversary cake with four of the longest residents still living in the village - Cec Forbes, Pam Lumby and Len and Maureen Jensen.
Kevin Bunt was on hand to take photos at the event and said it was a great get-together.
