Cheers to Robert Airs at
Living Choice Twin Waters
On Thursday 24th November, the Thursday movie matinee regulars at Living Choice Twin Waters came together to thank Robert Airs, who is stepping down from his role of organising of the weekly movie matinees.
Robert has delighted residents with matinees in the leisure centre theatre for the last nine years. His love of movies was evident in the way he described each story he selected, and he would often tell how it impacted society at the time it was released.
To mark the occasion, fellow movie buff, Lynne Mills, who rarely missed a screening, celebrated Robert’s dedication by hosting a lovely afternoon tea. She used her precious fine china for the occasion and prepared savoury muffins, lemon tarts and pin wheels, while others brought in cakes and nibbles. Bubbly was supplied to toast Robert in the heartfelt speeches.
Lynne said, “It’s not just the movies that he takes on the responsibility for - it’s all the events throughout the year that Robert arranges. He loves to cook as well as decorate for the events he puts on in the village and we are truly grateful.’’
Robert offered his sincere thanks to Lynne and to Living Choice staff for helping to coordinate the Thursday Movie Matinees. He said he was truly touched and grateful for the turnout, adding that he enjoyed hosting events and activities for the village. He has already hinted about his next adventures. We can’t wait to see what he does next!
