“Chip & Sip” clinics tee off
at Parkwood Golf Club
The inaugural golf clinic for Living Choice Parkwood deposit holders was held at Parkwood Golf Club on Thursday 16th June. The June clinic was a “ladies-only” event and attracted 8 participants, many of whom had no previous golf experience. They all agreed it was a fun, relaxed introduction to the game of golf.
Sponsored by Living Choice, the “Chip & Sip” event was hosted Grant Garrison, a PGA of America Master Certified Golf Coach from the United States with 38 years of golf coaching experience. Grant has coached many of the legends of the game including Phil Mickelson, Gene Littler, Phil Rodgers and Paul Runyon. He also coached several Hollywood celebrities while working as Head Professional at exclusive golf clubs in Los Angeles before relocating to the Gold Coast.
At the clinic, Grant adopted a unique approach to teaching the game by heading straight out onto the golf course to play a Team Ambrose Matchplay Event. The ladies were broken up into two teams: Team 1 Aileen Halter (Captain), Daphne Mole, Marian Crossman-Taylor and Karla Hawley versus Team 2 Karen Wharton (Captain), Jo Tait, Ann-Louise Ferguson and Angie Richards.
The first hole was a halved result, with Team 1 winning the inaugural event with a Par on the second playoff hole with a great approach shot and putt. Following the clinic as the sun set, wood-fired pizzas, wine and friendly banter was enjoyed by all in the Parkwood Bistro.
