Christmas, a time for giving at Broadwater Court.
Christmas is the time for giving and The Flutterby Coffee Ladies certainly have been busy since starting work on their Christmas Shoeboxes back in June. On Tuesday 26 November the shoeboxes were filled with donations and handed over to Erin from Coast Shelter – a not-for-profit organisation who work with homeless people and victims of domestic violence on the NSW Central Coast.
The contents, wrapping paper, generous donations and even the shoeboxes themselves were all donated by Broadwater Court Residents.
Back in October, the Flutterby Ladies held a fashion show which raised $300, which was also handed to Erin.
Since kicking off in June the Flutterby Ladies have lost three of their members, making the handover of the Christmas Shoeboxes a meaningful afternoon for a number of reasons.
Coast Shelter will distribute the boxes via case workers directly to families doing it particularly tough this Christmas.
We look forward to working with Coast Shelter in the future who were absolutely thrilled with the generosity of our residents and the Flutterby Coffee Ladies.
