Civil works near completion at Parkwood
Construction at Living Choice Parkwood moves onto the next phase with Alder Constructions on track to complete civil works this week. Alder, a locally based, family-owned business, has completed a diverse portfolio of civil and infrastructure works in South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, achieving great outcomes for all stakeholders.
At Parkwood, Alder’s experienced team is led by Site Manager David Rablah and Leading Hand Michael Hosemann who commented, “We have really enjoyed working on the Living Choice Parkwood site, and have adopted some innovative approaches to overcome the challenges experienced. These included extreme weather events, skilled labour and material shortages and a vast array of environmental and construction compliance requirements. It was also great to have the occasional lunch up at the club and watch the Titans train,” he added.
Living Choice Construction Manager, Leigh Buckton, said the underground services had been completed and the sewer and water to the site connected. As at 10th March, the table drain adjacent to the lake was 90 percent completed.
Stockpiled topsoil will now be spread over the site in accordance with the rehabilitation works outlined in the Vegetation and Flora Management Plan. The Plan includes replacement planting in the Vegetation Management Zones comprising local native species: Small trees (including preferred koala feed trees such as grey gums, brushbox, forest red gums and swampbox), tall and short shrubs and native grasses.
Reconstruction of wetland vegetation north of the site will create a habitat for Wallum froglets and other vulnerable wetland species. Rehabilitation works will also see all weeds removed and initiatives to prevent the further invasion of Singapore daisy.
Sales consultant, Angie Hackett, said future residents would have the luxury of being surrounded by green space and birdlife with views over the golf course, courtyard gardens or bushland. “With numerous dining, entertainment, sporting, wellness and medical facilities all within walking distance, residents will be spoilt with so many choices,” she added.
