By Jason Sack, Group GM – Living Choice:
For the first time in my career with Living Choice, I thought I’d draft a website article to personally thank each and every resident who attended the Living Choice Twin Waters Happy Hour on Thursday 11th October.
With so much concern and fear in the community and village regarding COVID and frustrations felt by some over the past 12 months, it was fantastic to see the spirit of Twin Waters residents and staff enjoying themselves and building strong, positive relationships.
Connecting with residents is something the Regional Manager, Tracy Blair and I have firmly on our agenda for 2022. Focusing on the benefits and joys of living within a Living Choice community is our goal. Hosting and attending informal social events which bring staff and residents together is such an important part of this journey.
I enjoyed meeting new committee members and after meeting with your new Chairperson Robyn Nolan earlier that day, repeated my commitment that Living Choice would be focusing on the positives with a view to achieve outcomes between your Committee and Living Choice in the year ahead.
I would also like particularly thank the many residents that took the time to chat with myself or any of the staff team who attended. I was touched and surprised that many residents remembered interactions they’d had with me over ten years ago when both they and I were new to Living Choice. Thank you, too, to the cheerful bar helpers – they were certainly kept busy!
While the pizza was a little late, the beer was cold and the evening was a great reflection of what Village life at Living Choice should be like. Tracy and I will be hosting another event at Twin Waters in early 2022 and I hope to connect with many residents again either before or at that event.
Note: Further Living Choice sponsored Happy Hours are planned at all Living Choice villages in 2022.
