Daughter’s referral earns $5,000 travel prize

Living Choice Woodcroft resident Helen Evans, her daughter Barbara and her two grandsons will be enjoying a much-needed holiday together following Barbara’s big win at the South Australian Gala Reward Event held at Living Choice Fullarton on 24th July.

The annual event is held to reward referrers and those they referred and at stake was a $5,000 travel voucher for the last remaining name in the ice bucket. This year, 22 successful referrers were in the draw and although Barbara and Helen were unable to attend, they were over the moon when told Barbara had won.

Helen said Barbara accompanied her on her first visit to the Woodcroft village. “My husband passed away three years ago and our big house and garden at Mt Hurtle had become too difficult for me to manage. Luckily a villa was available at Woodcroft and I’ve settled in well. I like my home, the village, the residents are all so nice and it’s close to everything.”

The ambassadors at Fullarton pulled out all the stops to ensure the event was the best ever. Living Choice director Ian Tregoning was so impressed that he started filming everyone dancing so he could show others how it could be done!

Lead ambassador Helen Bonet said a lot of organisation had gone on behind the scenes with her team shopping for decorations, arranging the entertainment, purchasing the wine, beer, soft drinks and ice, preparing the balloons, setting up the chairs and tables on the day, pouring the drinks, co-ordinating the serving of the delicious food prepared by Damien on Fisher and washing up all the glasses afterwards.

“As usual, Will Metzer gave us some terrific entertainment, with background music for the first hour and then after the draw it really heated up and many people got up and danced,” added Helen.

Everyone agreed it was a truly spectacular event – take a bow, Helen and the Fullarton ambassadors!
