Deepwater Court hosts Biggest Morning Tea
Living Choice Deepwater Court may be small, but it has heart and very generous residents. Village Manager, Bec Roese, organised this year’s Biggest Morning Tea and with the assistance of residents, raised $1,330!
Bec sent out a big flyer to let everyone know when it was on and what to expect. The residents responded by either attending the event or making a donation if they couldn’t be there. Even extended families that couldn’t participate wanted to donate.
The Community Centre at the village reached full capacity and each resident paid $2 entry fee. There was a lucky door prize, and plenty of raffles and auctions.
All the food on offer was donated by the residents, and there were no leftovers because Bec decided to bundle items up into 3-course meals or perfect afternoon teas and auctioned them off.
As expected, the morning was high spirited and full of happiness and laughter. It was a wonderful morning to get together and raise money for the Cancer Council.
Sales Consultant, Alicia Stacey, came along in support and took photos of all the action. Leanne Maini from Living Choice Alloura Waters was also in attendance and Roy from Village Maintenance collected the auction money.
Special thanks to Yvonne Manners for her assistance with preparation and help on the day, Jim Murch for making a whole lot of scones, and Jan Couper and Elaine Halliday for their delicious sandwiches.
Congratulations Bec and team on an amazing outcome!
