Demolition marks an exciting new chapter at Flagstaff Hill
The construction of a magnificent new clubhouse at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club is one step closer following the commencement of demolition of the old clubhouse. As the heavy machinery moved in, club members and village residents gathered to watch and take photos and, although it was a bittersweet moment for some, it also marked the beginning of an exciting new era for the club.
The demolition started just a few days after Living Choice Project Manager, Tony Hatzis, returned from a well-deserved Christmas break. In November, he completed The Range Apartments at Living Choice Flagstaff Hill and now he has turned his attention to two further apartment buildings, one of which will include the new golf clubhouse.
“We are well and truly in the middle of the club’s demolition at Flagstaff Hill - and we are looking to have that wrapped up inside the next couple weeks with some luck,” he said.
“We will be looking at the bulk excavation once this is complete, followed by basement, stormwater and ramp preparation work,” he added.
While the new clubhouse is being built, members are using a temporary clubhouse which has been provided by Living Choice.
The new clubhouse is set to become a talking point in the local community and will include several areas which can be used for weddings, celebratory functions and meetings. Golf club members and visitors will be able to socialise in the spacious lounge and alfresco area and village residents and members will be able to use the heated swimming pool and gymnasium.
Other facilities will include an 18-hole Mini Golf Course and two golf simulators. You can see the layout plan of The Club here.
