Double reward for daughter at QLD Gala Event
When Monita Roughsedge of Maleny persuaded her dad Bruce to view a waterfront apartment at Living Choice Twin Waters, she never imagined she would be rewarded with a $5,000 travel voucher.
Monita, her partner Adam and Bruce whooped with delight when Monita’s name was drawn as the winner at the annual QLD Gala Reward Event held at Living Choice Twin Waters on 24th July. Bruce had only moved into the village three weeks earlier and said he always knew his daughter would win!
However, for Monita, the biggest reward is knowing that her dad loves his new home, is surrounded by supportive residents and staff and is so busy that his calendar is jam-packed with upcoming events and activities.
“Dad is a very sociable person and after losing mum in January this year, I knew that he could not stay alone. They had a lovely waterfront home on the Gold Coast but it was quite isolated and it was difficult for him to socialise. I went on the hunt to find something suitable and visited Living Choice Kawana Island where I met Suzie Gray, an absolute delight! She also showed me an apartment that was being renovated at Twin Waters and I picked Dad up and took him there. He was quite overwhelmed at first but in the end it was his choice and he loves it.”
As the owner of One Tribe in Maleny, a shop opening in September which stocks unusual items procured from throughout the world, Monita is a great traveller and will take her dad with her when she uses her travel prize.
The Gala Reward Event was beautifully organised by the Resident Ambassador team at Twin Waters and attendees included Living Choice director, Graham Hobbs, referrers, those they referred and ambassadors from both Sunshine Coast villages. Fabulous décor, delicious canapes, great entertainment by Lee Hardisty and plenty of champagne, wine, beer and soft drinks ensured the 2019 event was a wonderful celebration.
