Lawsons Easter collection

Easter Bunny doesn’t forget the kids and mums, even in trying times!

Living Choice Twin Waters retirement residents and RizeUp volunteers, Ian and Maree Lawson, were recently requested to gather up Easter eggs and bunnies for the numerous children and their mothers who are living in domestic violence refuges on the Sunshine Coast and they certainly did not disappoint!

Ian and Maree have been volunteers with RizeUp for over 18 months and even in these uncertain times it is great to see them help make a difference to those who need it most. RizeUp is an organisation with a mission to raise awareness of domestic and family violence within society by generating life-changing practical support for affected families.

With the generous donation from Ian and Maree and contributions from local businesses, Myer Sunshine Plaza and Lever Law, over 200 needy families were visited by the Easter Bunny, in the hope it would raise their spirits.

Ian and Maree have a long track record of assisting local organisations, including Aussie Helpers, The Shack in Nambour and most recently, RizeUp. They hope to organise a fundraiser for RizeUp at the village in the future. Great work to Ian and Maree for once again proving that kindness really does go a long way.
