The Onkaparinga City Council has given the green light for the final stage of Living Choice Flagstaff Hill, the State’s first fully integrated golf course retirement community. The approval paves the way for construction of a new multi-million dollar clubhouse at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club, plus three apartment buildings comprising 90 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
The first two stages, which include 42 villas and 17 apartments, are currently under construction and are selling fast, according to Group General Manager, Jason Sack. “Our first resident, Wendy Butler has just celebrated her first year in the village and a few days ago, the residents gathered for their first `Christmas in July’ lunch.”
Mr Sack said the latest approval was fantastic news for the village residents, Flagstaff Hill Golf Club members and residents in the local community. “The facilities in the new clubhouse will benefit everyone and will include an outdoor alfresco dining area, an indoor dining-room with dance floor and stage, a members’ lounge and bar, large event lobby, two golf simulators, a new Pro Shop, heated swimming pool, gymnasium and meeting room.
“Other facilities planned for village residents include a surround sound cinema, library and art and craft studio. There will also be a Wellness Centre where both residents and members of the public can access a wide range of health and wellness services.” See Clubhouse plan here.
Mr Sack said it was hoped that construction on the clubhouse would start in the first quarter of 2022, as soon as all the necessary Building Consent approvals had been obtained. “There’s been a lot of interest in the villas and our construction team is building them as fast as they can. We’ve also had many enquiries for apartments in `The Range’ building, which is expected to be complete in April/May 2022.” For further information, see Golf front retirement village at Flagstaff Hill SA .
