Festive cheer not dampened by rain.

The rain couldn’t dampen the festive cheer at Future Living Choice Parkwood as residents gathered to celebrate the start of the holiday season with a Christmas-themed lunch on Friday, 22nd November at The Club @ Parkwood. The event was made even more special following the previous day’s exciting launch of Australia’s first surf and golf resort, “Palm Valley,” to be built at Parkwood International Golf Club.

Tracy Blair, Regional Manager for Queensland, gave an update on the village’s progress and introduced the Living Choice Executive team from Adelaide, who had flown in that morning to celebrate with residents and prospects. Together, they marked the impressive construction milestones achieved by the Living Choice construction team over the past year.
Neil Sanderson, the construction foreman, shared some remarkable statistics:

• Over 9,000m³ of concrete had been poured
• 1,100 tonnes of reinforcement steel used
• 11,000m² of formwork fixed
• More than 10,000 plants had been planted in rehabilitation zones
• Despite over 120 rain days, primarily mid-week, construction had kept moving forward
• 5km of scaffolding had been erected around the site
• The internal fit-out of Building 2 was progressing, with internal framing and services underway, and windows expected to be installed soon
• Preparations were being made to pour Level 4 of Building 2 before Christmas, weather permitting
• Formwork was ready for Level 2 of Building 4 in preparation for the slab pour
• The next major pour, for Carpark Zone 3, was scheduled for 6th December
• All major foundations had now been poured, connecting the golf club with the development, and the hardwood for the boardwalk was expected early next year.

This event was an excellent opportunity for Expression of Interest (EOI) holders to gain insight into what they can expect from the Gold Coast’s most exciting new retirement community, and to connect with like-minded individuals who are making Living Choice Parkwood their future home.
