Festive Fours event at Avoca Bowls

Under cloudless skies and a warm start, about 50 of Avoca Beach Bowling Club’s top bowlers gathered in their fours teams for the annual Living Choice Xmas Fours event, chasing a $1,000 prize pool.

They fought it out for more than three hours, playing two games of 13 ends before moving inside for a roast lunch provided by club caterers. It was a great fun day, with everyone turning out in Christmas mufti, including men’s president Peter Everett dressed as Santa Claus. In fact, it must have brought Peter some luck because his team took out the $400 first prize.

Second place, for a prize pool of $300, was the team led by club sponsorship chairman Tony Pointing and the third prize of with $200 was won by club stalwart Joe Turksi’s team.

The prizes were presented by long-time Living Choice sales consultant, Dave Grassby. Everyone agreed, we can’t wait for next year’s rematch!
