Flagstaff Hill residents enjoy iconic food tour
Eight residents from Living Choice Flagstaff Hill enjoyed a “Locale Food Tour” at the iconic Pasadena Foodland on Wednesday 15th March. Pasadena Foodland is Adelaide’s Finest supermarkets’ flagship store and has twice been awarded the prestigious honour of World’s Best Supermarket.
The tour was organised by the village’s Social Coordinator, Wendy Butler, and she said everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. “I think everyone had a great time and got a better understanding of the culture of the Chapley Family. The food, supplied by local suppliers and producers, was so fresh too.”
Apart from the supermarket, Pasadena Foodland has several eateries including a salumi bar, oyster bar, wood-fired oven zone, spice bar, flower shop and working patisserie.
The Pasadena and Frewville Foodland stores are owned by the Chapley family who are celebrating more than 70 years of retailing excellence. Wendy said they were lucky enough to meet the visionary father and son duo behind the unique business – founders Nick “Mr Nick” and Spero Chapley.
“There was even a Fringe performance that we got to listen to at the end of the tour. What a fun way to spend the morning,” she added.
Wendy said a further five residents would be attending the Locale Food Tour on Wednesday 22nd March. An Easter BBQ was also planned on the lawn next to the apartments on 8th April.
