Flagstaff Hill residents get into the Melbourne Cup spirit
Following long COVID-19 lockdowns, the 2021 Melbourne Cup will go down in history as “the race that restarted the nation”. At the fledgling Living Choice Flagstaff Hill village, the 2021 Melbourne Cup luncheon will be remembered as the first Melbourne Cup event at the village and we can’t wait to see how it grows each year.
Held in Wendy Butler’s Villa 9, Wendy took charge of the food and made amazing platters with hot chicken to top it off, followed by a fruit platter and dessert plate. Fellow residents Rae Angel and Rick O’Donnell also pitched in to help. Rae assisted with the decorations and blue and gold balloons and Rick was in charge of the sweeps, running $5, $2 and two $1 sweeps.
Sales Manager, Katherine Stacey said there was lots of fun and laughter with everyone enjoying the opportunity to socialise and watch the big race together.
