Generous Twin Waters residents dig deep for The Shack
Residents at Living Choice Twin Waters have done plenty of fundraising work in the past for The Shack, a local Sunshine Coast organisation which is committed to helping those who are homeless, battling addiction, are victims of domestic violence or just need assistance. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the residents were unable to host their annual fundraising Morning Tea, where residents come together to support the deserving charity.
Residents Ian and Maree Lawson put the call out for the donations and how amazing it is to see that in such a short time, many items were generously donated, including perishable goods, clothing, sleeping bags and cash donations just shy of $3,000! The items have been picked up and will now be distributed to those who are homeless on the Sunshine Coast, making their winter a happier and warmer one. “It is great to still be able to support The Shack Community Centre even though the Morning Tea could not go ahead this year, and I thank all residents for their support once again,” said Ian.
Great work to all involved – it makes us super proud to see the residents come together to be able to support those who need it most!
