Golf Day raises $90,000
for children’s charities
The Liquor Industry Golf Club (LIGC) in Adelaide holds an annual golf day in February each year to support children’s charities in South Australia. Living Choice has been a long-time supporter of the event, entering a team and sponsoring a hole.
This year, the team included Living Choice Flagstaff Hill residents, Lynda Millard, Graham Lunn, Wil Tertsch and Colin Jowsey, who joined a record 71 other teams for an early 7am shotgun start at Grange Golf Club.
It was an early start for the Living Choice sales team too, with Katherine Stacey, Sue Lock and Teresa Allan waking up at 4.15am to get up at the Living Choice hole by 6am. “It was a great day had by all with lots of laughter and fun,” said Katherine. “A big thank-you to Teresa and Sue for also manning our tent all day.”
Organiser, Robbi Timms, said the Charity Golf Day was a key event on the hospitality golf calendar and had raised considerable funds over the past 21 years. “It is attended by many industry businesses, providers and a gang of hoteliers who also volunteer their help on the day.”
She said ongoing sponsorship had been assured by major sponsorship partners, BankSA and Grange Golf Club, plus key corporate companies, Thomas Foods Australia, West End/Lion Beverages, Coopers Brewery, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, CUB Premium beverages and many other allied liquor industry providers.
Rob Gillies, Chair of the LIGC Charity Day committee, said many children’s charities would benefit from the monies raised this year.
