Helping others in need
Living Choice Kawana Island resident “Victoria” held a fundraising sale on Thursday 18th May to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the local Women’s Refuge.
Victoria said this was her second year of having a sale to raise money for the Women’s Refuge, with last year’s sale raising $220. This year Victoria was thrilled to raise a total of $460.00.
The display of handbags, hats, jewellery and gift items was held in the games room at the village’s bowls club.
Living Choice was very happy to donate goods to be sold at the sale.
Victoria said she personally puts together five bags a month for the children at the Women’s Refuge. “At the beginning of the school year, I also include school supplies, along with a $10 voucher so they are able to purchase extra supplies if required,” said Victoria.
Well done Victoria and everyone who supported this cause. Money raised will be used to purchase gift cards and donated to the Women’s Refuge.
