High praise for Queensland Gala Reward Event
This year, it was the turn of the Twin Waters Resident Ambassadors, led by Robert Airs, to organise the annual QLD Gala Reward Event, and they did not disappoint. The room was decorated in a cheerful theme of orange, gold and black, with a focus on gerberas.
Close to 60 people attended the event, including those who had successfully referred family members or friends to Twin Waters or Kawana Island during the financial year 22-23, the residents they had referred, Resident Ambassadors from both villages and Living Choice staff.
Guests enjoyed the afternoon dining on a selection of warm canapes, assorted finger sandwiches and cake tiers filled with lemon brownie slices, Persian love cake, chocolates and strawberries.
Regional Sales Manager, Tracy Blair welcomed everyone to the event and mentioned that the referral rate for this last year was a pleasing 58%. She also highlighted the high occupancy at both villages.
With three referrers entered in the draw, it was Phil O’Shea, a resident referrer from Kawana Island, whose name was drawn as the winner of the $5,000 UChoose Gift Card. Phil is a long-time resident of eight years and referred her good friend of over 30 years, Leonie Winter, to Living Choice Kawana Island.
Consolation winner Margaret McDonnell, who referred good friends Peter and Lyndall Jameson to Kawana Island, received a $200 gift card.
Following the event, many expressed their appreciation and awe of the beautiful décor, the delicious food prepared by The Pool Café and Coolum Meals on Wheels and the entertainment by Bobby Longstaff.
Along with the wonderful resident helpers, special mention must go to Robert who led a great team. Thank you everyone - it was a wonderful afternoon.
