Huge Monday Happy Hour at Glenhaven

Weekly Happy Hours are common at most retirement villages but at Living Choice Glenhaven, the residents go one better, enjoying Happy Hour on both Mondays and Fridays!

Living Choice sponsored the Monday Happy Hour on Monday 29th October and also invited its clients, providing an opportunity for them to talk to residents in a relaxed and informal setting. There was a huge turnout, with more than 100 residents and around 50 guests enjoying complimentary drinks, hot and cold snacks and fruit.

Jason Sack, GM Sydney & Adelaide, gave an update on the progress of the much anticipated Stage 3 at Living Choice Glenhaven. Many clients are on the waiting list for homes in Stage 3 and have supported Living Choice’s efforts to gain the necessary approvals.

The NSW Planning Minister, Anthony Roberts recently announced changes to the approvals process surrounding the development of seniors housing. The amendments include a change in the process on who determines Living Choice’s application for a Site Compatibility Certificate for Stage 3, with the application now being determined by the Sydney Central City Planning Panel. It is hoped that Living Choice’s application will come before the panel in mid-November.

Regional Manager, Gail Eyres, took the opportunity to introduce Mabel Yeboah who has been appointed to roll out Living Choice Home Care at both Glenhaven and Leisure Lea Gardens. As an Approved Provider, Living Choice can now provide a wide range of home care services to residents, either through a Government subsidy or on a user-pays basis.

A huge thank-you to the many residents who assisted at the event with special mention of Audrey Flatman, Etienne and Linda Meintjes who were kept flat out in the bar!
