Inaugural Hobbies Fair ticks all the boxes
Beautiful weather, amazing hobby displays, a live broadcast from 92.7 Mix FM, joyful residents and more than 100 visitors made Saturday's first-ever Hobbies Fair a great success at Living Choice Twin Waters retirement community.
From the moment the doors opened residents and visitors were in awe of the talent within the village. From various arts and crafts to a theatrical display and everything in between, it was great to see all the work the residents put in to make this event one to remember. All the displays were absolutely incredible and many took the opportunity to snap up a bargain!
It was also a chance for the Living Choice Firebug to be showcased and the name was finally revealed - "Bug of Choice”. Many hours of hard work went into building the boat and it was impressive to say the least - definitely the star attraction and a hit with the crowds. Stay tuned for more information on the Firebug’s launch*.
Throughout the day we kept hearing one thing about all the hobbies - "It is amazing to see and hear the stories behind each person’s hobby and it is evident they are so passionate about it!" We love that our residents got the chance to showcase what they love to do and it is great knowing visitors to the village had a chance to peer into the lives and interesting stories of our residents. Visitors also had the opportunity to inspect two 3-bedroom homes which are currently available with many commenting on their spaciousness.
A huge thank you to all the helpers and staff, including the kitchen ladies, the welcome desk team, parking attendants, drivers, display home hosts and superstar resident ambassadors, Thelma Richardson and Ian Lawson, who worked tirelessly to make the day run smoothly.
*It has been decided that once the boat has been launched by the woodworkers it will be donated to a children’s charity. For more information on this or if you think your charity will benefit, please email sales@livingchoice.com.au
