Kathy Mitchell crowned Ladies Singles Champion 2022

Living Choice Broadwater Court resident, Kathy Mitchell, competed in the Heather & Cec Ladies Singles Trophy Event held at Waterfront Estate recently.

Kathy put in a gruelling 4 hours of competitive bowling and there were 2 players left standing. Congratulations to the finalists, Kathy Mitchell and Lyn Martin, for a very entertaining display of precision bowling.

After a tense hour of Grand Final bowling, Kathy emerged as the victor winning 7 out of 10 ends with a final score of 11:6.

Kathy said, “It was a good match and I was just lucky on the day! I was on a high for three days afterwards.”

When asked if she has the trophy at her home, Kathy replied, “No, it’s not in my home otherwise I would have to dust it!”

It was also a surprise to Kathy that she took out the triples over the last two months too.

Kathy and her husband have been living at Broadwater Court for 10 years now. She said that it was the best move they’ve made and that it is very good for her socially. She did some voluntary work for Vinnie’s and when that finished, she took up bowls.
