Kawana Island rolls out the welcome mat for Twin Waters’ bowlers

The sun was shining down on bowlers from both Living Choice villages on the Sunshine Coast when they gathered at Living Choice Kawana Island on 14th June.

With 16 players from Living Choice Twin Waters and 25 players from the Kawana Island village, the residents were all enthusiastic about playing eight ends of lawn bowls before afternoon tea and then continuing with another eight ends.

“Normally, it’s a challenge between the two villages but today it’s more a gathering of social bowls,” said Bob Johnston of Kawana Island. “We mixed the bowlers from the two villages together to make up triples teams for today’s game,” he said.

This year there was no trophy for the winning village, however it was a great chance for the bowlers to catch up and enjoy the day. The residents of Twin Waters were very impressed with the bowls green at Kawana Island and perhaps this contributed to their game.

It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves. Thanks and appreciation to Bob for organising the day and to Kawana Island for hosting the event.
