It’s no secret that Living Choice Director, Graham Hobbs, is an ardent advocate of health and fitness, especially for seniors. He was largely responsible for the establishment of a Wellness Centre at Living Choice Fullarton and, under the guidance of Wellness Centre Coordinator, Sarah Fox, another Wellness Centre soon followed at Living Choice Woodcroft. Many of the services will soon be available at Living Choice Flagstaff Hill too, with an apartment being made available for a Wellness Centre from mid-April.
Graham is not just an advocate for the Wellness Centre services – he supports them too. He has taken part in exercise classes at Fullarton, where he also has regular appointments with Brad Yates at Yates Physio. Last week, he surprised the participants in Yuki Honda’s Seniors’ Fitness class at Woodcroft, joining them for a fun session of movement to music.
Yuki says her mission is to “make people move with fun and laughter” – and her classes are certainly a lot of fun. “Every week, I make the exercises different and they are all designed to improve strength, cardio and balance.”
Yuki is at Living Choice Woodcroft three times a week and her fitness and aqua classes are very popular with both residents and members of the public. Classes, which cost $10 for residents and $11 for visitors, are held as follows:
Tuesdays - Chair Yoga 9am to 10am. Strength for Life 10.15am to 11.15am.
Wednesdays - Aye Move (Gentle Yoga) 8am to 9am. Seniors’ Fitness 9.15 to 10am.
Wednesdays – Aqua 11am to 11.45am; 12 noon to 12.45pm.
Fridays - Aqua 1.30pm to 2.15pm.
Yuki also has a Gentle Yoga class at Living Choice Fullarton on Wednesdays at 3.45pm. To book, phone her at 0424 724 914 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
