Living Choice Glenhaven salutes local volunteers
To celebrate International Volunteer Day on 5th December, the staff and residents at Living Choice Glenhaven decided to honour the wonderful work of local volunteer organisations. It was also a great opportunity to highlight the work of the many residents who donate their time, both within and outside the village.
Organisations which took part included the Glenhaven Rural Fire Service, service clubs such as Rotary, Lions, Probus and NSW Scouts, the Dural Men’s Shed, Arthritis Australia, Arcare Aged Care Residence and CarPal. The talented members of the Glenhaven Craft Group, Woodworking Group and Garden Club also had displays and the craft group sold many beautiful items in aid of charity.
Ray Williams MP also attended and took time to visit each stall to thank the volunteers for their efforts. “It was a really great event,” said Regional Manager, Gail Eyres. “Both our residents and clients enjoyed the opportunity to learn more and the representatives of the volunteer organisations also enjoyed networking with each other.”
Living Choice sponsored a BBQ which was prepared by volunteers from the Glenhaven Rural Fire Service and Gail was very pleased to donate $600 to the fire service on behalf of Living Choice. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers!
