Living Choice Parkwood Construction Update

One of the biggest piling rigs in Australia will be arriving at Living Choice Parkwood in mid-July to commence the piling on the site, which is expected to take around 10 weeks. The rig was originally scheduled to be delivered at the end of May but was delayed at the request of the piling rig company.

National Construction Manager, Leigh Buckton, said a structurally acceptable base was being built for the piling rig to sit on and the entrance batter was being trimmed back to allow the piling rig to get access to the western end of the site.

Mr Buckton said it had been a busy time at the site. “Rehabilitation works have commenced, the weed poisoning program has started and the golf hole and irrigation are out for tender.

“Ground water management is also currently being undertaken. This involves building a new ramp off the bund to allow a ring route of trucks.

“We have obtained QLD Fire Approval for the Stage 1 building works as well as Building Rules Consent for Stage 1 which includes the basement up to the podium,” he said.

Stage 1 includes the Lexington building, comprising 30 apartments, and the Lakeshore building which will have 20 ultra-luxurious apartments and a world-class leisure centre. Both the Lexington and Lakeshore buildings face the golf course.

Overseeing the construction at Living Choice Parkwood is Michael De Re, a long-time Living Choice project manager who supervised the construction of the award-winning Bridgeport Hotel in Murray Bridge. The Bridgeport won a prestigious national award `Overall Hotel of the Year – Regional’ in 2022. Michael was also responsible for most of the construction of `The Range’ building at Living Choice Flagstaff Hill in Adelaide, Estia Southport and CSI – Club Southport.
