Long-serving employees rewarded at Leisure Lea Gardens
Living Choice is justifiably proud of its many long-serving staff members and rewards 10-year staff members with a certificate and generous gift card. The latest recipients are Ramani Mudalige and Wendy Bao, both from Leisure Lea Gardens, who recently received their 10-year service awards from NSW Regional Manager, Gail Eyres.
Ramani has been involved with Leisure Lea Gardens for more than 22 years, having starting as a contract cleaner with her husband. She commenced on the village payroll as a part-time kitchen hand, then completed a Certificate 111 in Aged Care and moved into a Personal Care Assistant role. Ramani did such a great job that she was offered the Care Coordinator role in 2013.
Wendy has a Certificate 111 in Aged Care & Business Administration (medical) and predominately works as a morning Personal Care Assistant. She also covers some sleepover shifts. Village Manager, Linda Savige, says Wendy is a “whizz on the computer” so now, in addition to her PCA duties on Saturdays and Sundays, Wendy assists with office administration.
“Wendy is the perfect person to take care of the village and residents on the weekends. She is very versatile and able to adapt to any emergency situation. Both Wendy and Ramani are invaluable members of the Leisure Lea Gardens team.”
