Miele demonstration impresses Living Choice Flagstaff Hill residents

By Tamara Laurence:

Several residents from Living Choice Flagstaff Hill recently travelled to the Miele Showroom and were treated to a demonstration of the company’s various kitchen products, which resulted in a delicious three-course lunch.

Gail Pounsett, Village Manager of Woodcroft and Flagstaff Hill, organised the day out aimed at teaching those interested more about the capabilities of the Miele appliances which are installed in their very own kitchens at their Living Choice villages.

The visitors were very impressed from start to finish, from Miele’s hospitality through to the thoroughness of the presentations – and of course the tasty results!

“We were very warmly greeted by the staff at Miele including Head Chefs Cam and Helen,” said Gail.

“They made us a lovely cup of coffee from their coffee machines and proceeded to teach us about the ovens, both the speed and the microwave capability, as well as the normal oven. They taught us everything we needed to know from cooking, settings as well as dismantling the doors for cleaning. Even those that had been using their Miele appliances for months were surprised at all they were learning.”

Following the oven demonstrations, residents were then shown some hints and tips on the induction cooktops, and once again were amazed at what they were learning.

“It was definitely enlightening. We all inwardly declared we would be better cooks from our experience!” said Gail.

Of course, after any meal there is washing up to do, but luckily there was a dishwasher presentation which also revealed several aspects of the machine that were little known.

All in all, it was an extremely enjoyable day where a lot was learnt, and residents were all given the five-star treatment from start to finish.

“It was a fabulous day and we plan to go back again soon; not only will we have more residents to take, but no doubt we will also learn more each time we attend.”
